Board Member Named Distinguished Citizen

Harvest Board Member, Pete Burrell, was recently awarded the Rick Quinn Distinguished Citizen Award at the Pillar Awards on May 3, 2019.  The event held at Citrus Hills Golf and Country Club was hosted by the  Chamber of Commerce. Pete received his award from his former employer and friend, Mr. Gerry Mulligan. This award is given to a deserving community leader, who exemplifies the ideals of community volunteerism in their daily lives.

Mr. Burrell regularly unloads food on delivery day, picks up community food donations, and canvases the community for financial donations. Pete is in his eighth year of service as a Board Member of Citrus County Harvest. He also serves with Daystar Life Center of Citrus County, The Pregnancy and Family Life Center of Citrus County and the Saint Scholastica Catholic Church’s Knights of Columbus.

Pete has been a resident of Citrus County for the majority of his career, working for the Chronicle and volunteering to make the community a better place. We at Harvest are proud to call Pete our friend.
