Assembly Teams

Assembly Team members assemble food bags and deliver them to the assigned school. This task generally requires 1-3 hours of service per month. Responsibilities:

  • Be present at designated packing time.
  • Pack plastic bags and load in vehicle for delivery.
  • Ensure pantry site is locked upon leaving.

Assembly Team Leader

Assembly Team Leaders manage the assembly teams. This task generally requires 1-2 hours of service per month. Responsibilities:

  • Ensure bags are packed and delivered on time by Assembly Team.
  • Be present at designated packing time.
  • Be the point of contact for Pantry Manager.
  • Communicate information with Assembly Teams.

Crate Packers

Each week before the food bags can be packed, Crate Packers prepare the pantry for the Assembly Teams. This task generally requires 10 hours of service per month.  Responsibilities:

  • Submit monthly food order.
  • Assist with food order transport (when necessary).
  • Manage and rotate inventory at food site.
  • Prepare crates for Assembly Teams each week.

Delivery Drivers

For those with access to a truck, we need assistance with delivering pallets of food around the county to our pantries. This task generally requires 2 hours of service per month. Responsibilities:

  • Pick up and transport food from the Community Food Bank to an assigned pantry site.

Food Runners

Throughout the month donated food must be picked up from donation bins around the county. This task generally requires 1 hour of service per month. Responsibilities:

  • Pick up and transport donated food to respective pantry throughout the month.
  • Must be able to lift 15-20 lbs.

Pallet Builders

Once a month during the academic year pallets of food must be stacked with the appropriate inventory to be delivered to each pantry site. This task generally requires 3 hour of service per month and is laborious. Responsibilities:

  • Be available the second Tuesday of each month during the academic year from 8:00-11:00AM.
  • Must wear closed toed shoes.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds.

Pantry Managers

Each food pantry requires a Pantry Manager to ensure smooth operation and distribution for their assigned schools. This task generally requires 5 hours of service per month.  Responsibilities:

  • Be main point of contact with designated school liaison.
  • Keep Master Lists current at food site for each school.
  • Coordinate with Team Leaders, Co-Leaders and Crate Packers when necessary.
  • Oversee the operations, inventory, supplies and cleanliness of pantry site.
  • Maintain accurate contact information and track hours for all site volunteers.
  • Supervise monthly food delivery.

Unloaders

Once a month we need assistance unloading pallets of food delivered to our pantries around the county. This task generally requires 2 hours of service per month. Responsibilities:

  • Unload cases of food/water from pallets at a(n) assigned pantry site(s)

Delivery Drivers

Delivery Drivers transport packaged fresh produce in their personal vehicle to a summer feeding site once a week for 10 weeks during the summer months. This task generally requires 1-2 hours of service per week. Responsibilities:

  • Transport fresh produce from the Harvest office to an assigned site.

Site Captain

Site Captains manage a summer feeding location once a week for 10 weeks during the summer months. This task generally requires 1-2 hours of service per week. Responsibilities:

  • Transport A-frame sign, tables and pop-up tent to site.
  • Set up/ break down tables, tent and A-frame sign.
  • Take attendance of participants.
  • Coordinate site volunteers.

Site Volunteer

Site Volunteers help load fresh packaged produce into participants’ vehicles once a week for 10 weeks during the summer months. This task generally requires 1 hour of service per week. Responsibilities:

  • To be cheerful and kind while interacting with participants.
  • Help load packages into participants vehicles.

Several times a year we need help with preparing for fundraisers, transporting food and other various tasks. If you would like to be a Blessings’ volunteer but are unable to commit to a consistent day and time, this is the perfect job for you!
