An App to Stay Up-to-Date!

We would like to announce the release of a new iPhone and Android mobile app as a service to the Blessings Volunteers and a service to the citizens of Citrus County. The app – the first of its kind for Citrus County Blessings – is available as a free download to volunteers and citizens.

The new app is an innovative approach to help Citrus County Blessings inform and provide valuable program information to volunteers and residents alike. After downloading the app onto your smartphone, you can receive the latest news, volunteer calendars and important information from Citrus Blessings.

One of the app’s key features is “donate,” a link that enables anyone from the local community or individuals attending events the ability to quickly donate to Citrus Blessings so they can continue working with the local youth by providing key resources the children of our county need and deserve.

Check your Volunteer Calendar for upcoming events, one click will add the event to your calendar as well as allow you to share with your family and friends via text, email or social media.

Check contact information for each of the panty sites and contact the pantry manager for additional information. This great resource also allows users to navigate to pantry sites via mapping software on your phone.

“We have created a great resource for our community that will streamline volunteer resources as well as  community donations and allow us to better communicate with our volunteers via alerts and notifications. This is app is going to streamline day to day operations for us, allowing us to focus more on the children of our county,” said Grace Hengesbach. “I encourage every citizen and volunteer to download our new mobile app to assist Citrus Blessings in serving our community.”

Citrus County Blessings mobile app was donated and created by ThePublicInformationapp.com, a division of OCV, LLC, which specializes in mobile app development for public safety, local government, and private businesses.  With more 500 apps in the app stores, OCV designs and develops custom apps for state, county, and local government agencies. “We are proud to serve Grace Hengesbach and Citrus County Blessings. Nearly 80% of persons in the U.S. own and use smartphones as their main means of communication.  So mobile apps offer non-profits a better way to alert, inform, and communicate with their volunteers,” said Anthony Seguin, communications strategist with OCV. “Mobile apps and social media are the trends for grassroots sharing of information today.”

Search for Citrus County Blessings  and download the mobile app onto your smartphone or tablet.  It is available free of charge from the iPhone and Google Play (Android) app stores.
